Where do you live? As in city, country, town, not in location specifically. Could it be possible that a hawk, owl, some bigger bird swooped too low? Or even a flock of Canadian Geese. I know my kittens stop cavorting when they fly overhead here about 10 times a day. That could possibly be it.
