I agree with Rguerts on the Ignatia, my last homeopathic vet brought me some when she came to my apt to send my cat to the bridge.
One thing I think is a wonderful memorial is if your vet's crematorium offers paw prints in clay, I had that done for my cat.
I also have 8x10 framed photos of all my pets from over the years hanging around the apt.
