Last Saturday Twiggy was rushed to the hospital to have her reproductive system removed. She developed Pyometra.
Now I'm all for adopting from a rescue.....but I'm pretty damn mad when they insist your pet was spayed.....and 6 years later, the scar was a Cesarean scar and not a spay. She could have died. She was never spayed.
So I hate to write this on a site where we support rescue - but some rescues are crap. They are run by well meaning but incompetent people.... who do not have the skills/resources/ to get the relevant info on your pet.
So like anything else....the burden is on you to research the rescue.
(Just as an FYI the rescue in question was never associated with this site)
