I would contact a lawyer asap before you do anything on your own. they need to do an investigation BEFORE it gets blown out of proportion. You need to stop bugging the kennel. Leave it be. let them think you let it go, get a lawyer, and let them get all the evidence you need.
If you keep bugging the kennel and if a lawyer tries to do anything undercover, they will be suspicious. If you leave it be, any undercover work won't be a problem (i'm a former private investigator, so we dealt with stuff like this all the time).
the sooner you get a lawyer, the better, otherwise, talking to the paper, bugging the kennel, etc, can ruin the case.
