The thing is even if sammy is getting socialized, she doesn't have to know that. If he is a house pet who doesn't see dogs too often unless it is by passing by, socialization is not as important and she doesn't need to know anything otherwise.
People tell me all the time to leave my Boo play- he has weird body language and no one can tell when he turns from playing to aggression but us. I tell them "Look, he is not playing. Don't tell me what my own dog is feeling." You just have to stand up. You are the only one who knows what is best for your dog.
