Why are my bald Sphynxes growing hair...and I can't

Hi Everyone!
It's so weird, these little sphynx buggers are ALL growing this downy fuzz...some with pretty good thickness. They came to us bald. this new downy stuff......that's not what we ordered :D anyone know what's going on? (and why it won't happen to me except in my ears) Thx! |
Marko here is your answer from Google LOL
No, they're not entirely hairless. Sphynx cats lack a main coat, but they do have a soft, downy fluff that makes their skin incredibly soft and touchable. ... What's more, the hairless gene is recessive, which means that if a sphynx breeds with a normal-coated cat, all their kittens will have hair. Unfortunately it doesnt explain your problem LOL :laughing: Cindy |
It's winter! It's cold! And they've been inspired by their new brother, Peaches, who looks so warm in his fur!
Is this the first year that this has happened? |

no, it's actually been a slow but progressive thing for each sphynx that we've had.... Twiggy's tail has grown a pile of hair as well- Nuda too. Yoda doesn't seem to have much downy-hair anywhere......seems like he'll get there though :D |
Cool! So do they lose the down in summer or is this an all-year thing? It looks soft and huggable! :lovestruck:

Since they crave heat (I mean they have intense love for us :) ) - they're always comin' to us for snuggles..
Best skin of any cat by far. Their underbellies are always warm like hot water bottles and feel like suede. You can rub them for hours... it's like crack I tell you :) And this downy-fuzz on steroids on their backs is an interesting texture - especially when they come to cuddle in the mornings skin to skin :D |
:cloud9:
A new addiction! |
