Cookie has changed her mind about her food ...
 

We were doing great with Merrick's flavour's, although she apparently was NOT fond of "Grammy's Pot Pie". She put good weight on and ate regular meals.

In the past week or so, she has "decided" she doesn't want that. She also doesn't want Fancy Feast or Iams or Wellness. Period.

I've been trying to bend her to my will, but, seriously, she seems to prefer starving over what I think is best for her! I resorted to a few crunchies, but even that, she has a few, then tries to "bury" the rest. Same with all food.
She MIGHT eat a couple bites, but then tries to bury it and goes away.

She's just coming up on 16 weeks, healthy & playful & strong by all appearances ... any ideas what's going on in that peanut of a brain? Any suggestions? Should I be worried?

She is due for her next check-up this week, so I will bring the subject up with her vet. But, meanwhile, she has me pretty frustrated!

My guys aren't eating as much either, maybe it's the heat (Montreal is sweltering). If you put down the food and leave it for a few hours, would that work? As long as she's eating a little and not actually starving herself, I wouldn't worry too much.

I have been leaving it down quite a long while. She has amazing willpower, apparently.

She does eat a bit, here & there, and isn't dehydrated or avoiding her litter box.

Maybe she just isn't eating as much because she's in a non-growth spurt period?
I don't think it's the heat - we have a/c and she's always inside.

Thanks for replying Badger, you're probably right, nothing to worry about.

My 10 year old thinks it's because I've spoiled her with variety and now she wants different food for every snack. Who knows, he may be right!!! :lightbulb:

lol i had a cat like that yo ad to have like 5 varieties cause he would get bbored also if her activity level is down that moy do it
i know when my kits play a lot they eat more

Her activity level is most definitely NOT down!!!! I forgot how crazy a kitten could be ...

Tomorrow we see the vet, so I'm going to take her a poop (I'm sure she'll be thrilled:yuck:!), just to make sure it's nothing else. I have noticed she sneezes a fair bit, maybe she has a cold and nothing smells appealing to her???

If they could only talk and tell you what's up ... Oooh, that probably would lead to some other sort of problems, like I'd find out she has the mouth of a sailor! :laughing:
