The reason i'm asking.Jag will be 2years next month.
and we have no been seeing other wiems.2 of them were 2 1/2.1 weighed 70lbs the other was 68lbs.and was talking to a woman with 2 3year olds.all of them were smaller then jag at 82lbs and younger.i'm a little worried about his size compared to the others.and hip problems.what do you all think.

and more.the last one just because.it was after playing with the hose.

Jag looks great :cloud9: . I wouldn't worry about the fact he is a bit bigger. There is a group of weims that walks where I used to and they are all quite varied in size. I think any breed and especially the larger breeds have a varied size range. Does he show any symptoms of having hip problems? If there is no stiffness or pain yet by this age then I would say it probably won't be an issue. You could always supplement with glucosamine for added peace of mind.

angeldogs May 29th, 2007 01:18 PM

TeriM.No to none.i just don't know if he gets any bigger if it's going to be good for him health wise.

technodoll May 29th, 2007 01:19 PM

jag is looking superb! don't worry a bit. he's glossy, well proportioned, slowly getting his muscles in and maturing very nicely. i wouldn't be surprised to see him at 90 lbs or more in a couple of years - raw diets do add to heavy muscle weight and thick proper bones. hims just a big boy, that's all ... :highfive: :cloud9:

angeldogs May 29th, 2007 01:23 PM

Thanks technodoll.also wasn't sure if i should raise or cut back on the food.he's still at 2lbs to 2.5 lbs.

technodoll May 29th, 2007 01:28 PM

if you can feel his ribs easily (but NOT see them when he moves, sits, etc) then he's at a good weight, and you're feeding him just fine! i assume his poops are OK now that you don't feed turkey anymore? :fingerscr

I think he looks very healthy and wouldnt' worry about his size, which will vary between individuals within the breed. If it helps any, I just met someone the other day who was telling me his mom has a 130 lb weim... my neighbor also has one that must be at or near 100 lb (he's quite tall).

Hunter's_owner May 29th, 2007 04:40 PM

I think he looks great also:cloud9:

Jag is looking really good and one very handsome boy. :lovestruck: I agree with TeriM and would supplement him with glucosamine/chondroitin or else green lipped mussel. :)
