Help w my puppy ears please

Hi all. My puppy is 10wks old and I just noticed the inside of her ears are a bit crusty/waxy. They are a little sensitive to touch but she isn’t scratching wining or shaking her head a lot.

Due to covid it’s a bit hard to get a vet apt so thought I’d see what people’s thoughts are. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably best to get them looked at by a vet, but I can give you a few pointers.

First off, stick your nose in her ears and sniff. If you smell anything sweet or rancid or rotten, a vet visit is in order, just so you can get an idea of what might be wrong. If there is an actual discharge of some type, you'll want to get that checked, as well. The wrong treatment can be ineffective, at best, and damaging, at worst.

But if it just seems to be general waxy buildup and dirt, you can clean them yourself. Most pet stores have safe ear cleaning solutions--easiest to soak a kleenex or lint-free cloth with the solution, then wipe out the ear canal as best you can (paying attention to the little bumps and grooves), then wipe off the inside of the ear flap. If your pup will let you, you can squirt a little of the liquid in the ear canal, massage the ear a bit, then dry the flap and canal with your tissue or cloth.

Would love to see the rest of your pup if you have any pics to share. :D What's her name?

Hmmm...my guess would be that your pup's name is Millie? :o  I'm not the most observant person in the world! :p
