Good article - Ya have to be so careful!!!!

I can relate to the part about the dogs. This used to be a real danger when we had 8, but because we had so many, I think we were more careful. Now we just have 2 and we trip over them more than we ever did with the bigger crew! We've only had minor injuries, though: one broken ring finger and one compression fracture of the right ankle. I guess we've been living on borrowed time! :D

I think that my death will be brought about by cat, though--JD has the disconcerting habit of getting right under foot as I'm about to step down on the stairs. *sigh*

I notice the leash was implicated in the Rottie owner's tib/fib break. I've seen some tricky leash injuries and all were the owner being careless. One was a lady who borrowed my long line at field training, stood in the circle of line, sent her dog and the line wrapped around her bare ankle as the dog zoomed out to get his bumper at warp speed. No, her leg did not "warp" ie, break. But that line had been in dirty, scummy pond water, and had been dragged over who knows what on the dry ground, and she got a horrendous infection.
