Shampoo Bars for Dogs

We are in the process of developing a Pet Shampoo Bar, primarily for dogs and would like to know what people think.

We have tried several liquid shampoos on our Standard Poodle (Padfoot) but they all seem to have trouble spreading, especially if his hair is long at the time.

We tried one of our regular shampoo bars on him and it was certainly a lot easier to clean him, especially in hard to access areas such as his armpits!

Have you ever used a shampoo bar for your pet? How did you like it? What would you have changed about it? How would you compare the end result in comparison to liquid dog soap? What scent would you like to have in a pet shampoo?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

We are not too strong on using this forum for market research but it's very general so I'll offer an opinion..

I just can't see how a bar of soap is easier than liquid soap on a dog or a cat. We've used Dawn dishwashing soap many times - spreads pretty well as far as I'm concerned.

I'd also be very very careful about what I put into that soap as many pets have very sensitive skin.
As for smell, seems to me pets dislike smells so I'd say fragrance free or only natural fragrances.

Good luck.

The only fragrances my dogs like was of a fish head or donkey poop. The stinker the better . :yuck: I also can't any perfumes on my pet, I like my clean washed dog smelling like dog minus the fragrances .
