epilepsy linked to dog food

Hi, my dog has seizures and the vet thinks it's epilepsy but is not completely sure. Many articles online that I have read have said that some dogs have seizures because in many dry foods, there is soy, grains, corn, and other things that are food allergies to dogs; some dogs react badly to it and some do not. I want to start cooking for my dog instead of buying the dry food from the store. Has anyone gotten recipes that give the dog complete nutrition? Or should I call the vet for them to suggest the ingredients for me? I would guess that cooked chicken and carrots would work but I'm not sure if she would be getting all the vitamins and minerals she needs then...?

I don't feed raw/home cooked, but lots of people on this forum do :) Here is the link to the recipes thread. I would look through the posts for something that matches up with what you have in mind. Good luck! http://www.pets.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=38

As a side note, home cooking is quite expensive. The main canine allergies are chicken and wheat; and there are many kibble choices that have neither of these ingredients.
How old is your dog? Has your dog always been on the same kibble? Did your dog have an MRI to rule out any other brain abnormalities?
