dog not yet neutered

I just got my dog hes a shiba inu 11 and a half months old. I think we have a female in the neighbourhood thats in heat or something he whines all the time inside and out and its just been the last couple of days, is there anything i can do to stop the whining?(other that letting him go do the nasty haha not happening) He will be going in to get neutered next week.

Congratulations on the new addition! How long have you had him?

Why do you think there is a bitch in heat? Could he be whining from loneliness or adjustments or something else? Where you do think the dog in heat is?

Be very careful if that is the case...they will go high and wide to find the dog in heat. Don't need any more puppies  If he is outside, and that is the case, then he should be tethered and supervised.

Hopefully he will get in for his neuter before anything happens and you won't have to go through this again.

Good luck!

my neighbours have a female dog and i'm not sure but i think she is not spayed she already has had puppies and they kept one of the puppies which i was told has both parts oddly enough. there the kind of people to not spay or neuter.
We have had him for 3 weeks now and he was fine no whining or anything until just a couple of days ago

Probably there is a female in heat.....it's the end of the summer and many go into their heats now.
Try to watch your guy 24 hours a day. Males will do almost anything to get to a female.
Good Luck.

Yes, un-neutered males can be very annoying. ;)
Once he has recovered from his neuter try some obedience classes or dog parks to keep him mentally and physically active.
