Raw Suppliers in Montreal Area

I know there are lots of people from the Montreal Area on this board. I'm looking for some good sources for more unusual protein sources. I can get chicken carcasses, beef, pork, and turkey easily. But, does anyone know of a good place to get more exotic protein sources such as lamb, bison or fish?

Thanks in advance,

There's a listing here that may or may not help. Scroll down to the "List of Meat Suppliers" and then further down to "Quebec". Also look for Urban Carnivore, which has stuff like bison, rabbit, duck, etc.

There's Volailles Et Gibiers Fernando, 106 Roy East for duck, rabbit, boar, etc.

Slovenia carries lamb, 3653 St Laurent.

If you don't mind frozen fish (I get mine here at excellent prices), there's Epicerie Segal, 4001 St Laurent.

All are within walking distance of each other.

Thanks so much! I live in NDG, but of course would travel if it meant adding some varitey to their diet. Do you find the prices resasonable?

Looks like the list is no longer working or online. :frustrated:

I am from Ottawa but am willing to drive up to the Montreal area to pick up some raw frozen meat for our two Labs. We typically stay away from chicken as one of the dogs is sensitie to it. We go through a decent amount of it, and would be looking to pick up around 200lbs per order. We used to get 2lb blocks bulk that was a mix of meat from a co-op around here, but they have since moved out of the area so we need a new source.

Anyone have any suggestion as to where I can source out a new supplier?

Thanks a mint!

Maybe check out some of the Yahoo Groups on raw feeding. Members there might be able to hook you up. Here are some examples:

I get my raw meat from RawPaw here in Montreal. I don't know if she offers horse or kangarou but I know she has bison and fish (as well as all the usuals).

Store in NDG

I do it part on my own and also get from a store in NDG called Bailey Blu. The girls there are super nice and the prices are the best I've seen so far. If you look at my other post, I'm not a fan of cheap delivery meat, I like knowing what I'm feeding my dogs

I want to feed my ferrets with frozen chick sometime.
In USA it's like 0.20$ per frozen chick depend of how many you buy , in France is like 35$ for 10kg of frozen chick.

Anybody knows where a can find good quality frozen chick for my furrets near Montreal ?

thanks a lot,

More exotic raw meats for dogs

Hi - I'm new here but saw your post looking for more exotic meats for your dogs. I've just started a raw dog food business on a very small scale and offer high quality game meats, especially Red Deer. Heart, kidney, liver.
The food I make is all home made, in chunks not ground. This way our dogs are forced to chew - which benefits their teeth and digestive juices. The bones are whole - such as Brome Lake duck necks. The chunks vary and I make them specifically for the size of your dog. Labor intensive but I love it and love dogs.
If interested, please let me know. I live in the Laurentians area.

I might be interested in your meat depending on your prices, you are a bit far away from me, not sure how to contact you.
