What's missing from our board/site?
 

Dear members,

In an effort to always improve, we'd like member feedback on if there is anything we are missing.

Is there a new forum section we need?

Is there any other section that we need to add to THE OTHER parts of Pets.ca that are NOT bulletin board related?

Members on this board have great insight so your feedback is very much appreciated.

how about an instant messaging forum or online meetings with pet experts about different subjects. :D

Yes that would be great, there have been times where i wanted to ask a specific person stuff, had to post it and we just talked to eachother about it the whole time.
IM would be great!!!

Chatrooms are always tricky with the board bacause there are often conflicts....but we are always looking for a good one to implement.

I don't know forum things, but is there any way that we could post movies? Like small home movies? Or are they just too huge?

I have been going into a chat room on another site - non - pet related - so far everyone is civil to one another and there is a group that goes in regularlily - everything under the sun pretty much gets talked about from pets - kids, weather work etc.

I'm fairly new to forums. I belong to two other pet related ones and this one is [B]by far the best. :thumbs up [/B]

The forums and the site look very.....busy....almost like everything is vying for your attention. When I first came onto the site I had lots of difficulty finding what I needed....I wasn't sure where to look and stuff....

Isn't there some way to make more whiteapace in the forums? I mean everything looks so close together and it can be kinda confusing...especially since there are quite large descriptions on some of the forums...just space it out a little more vertically?

Couldn't you make another heading where you can put like the Offtopic forum, the suggestion forum and the ask members forum? I mean so far as I know most of those don't necessarily have to do with pets (I mean I know you can mention and stuff but yeah, you know what I mean right?)

Is there maybe some way to create a bit more whitespace between things here too? It just seems like "we are going to cram as much information as we want into your heads" kinda thing. I mean its great that you have an article page etc. but why not make the home page just sorta introduce the site? More like "Welcome to your Canadian pages on how to take care of all your pet's needs. Check out our Articles section. Check out the Nutrition centre. Hit the bulletin board for more advice!" right? That sort of thing instead of randomly giving an article for people to read?

Whenever I click on the Pet Nutrition link on the menu (left side) I come up with dog nutrition but haven't been able to find anything on cats....And while its neat to have all those recipes listed at the bottom, I'm not sure what half those recipes are for (ie. dog, cat, human, budgie, etc). Maybe have a sub menu kinda thing where you can click on dog or cat or human or other animal?

Maybe I'm just on crack or something....but those are my suggestions...:)

mm yes, and audio. Even in the form of compressed files that you have to download (so long as everyone promises not to post virus-ridden files)

Maybe there could be a link we could click on (like "new posts" and "today's posts") that shows us all of the currently active threads that we have posted in.

And maybe some new emoticons?? There isnt any for LOL and so on!

Maybe a chat room for those with insomnia or crazy work hours?:D

I like those moving emoticoms, like the one hitting the other in the head with a hammer. And we need one to indicate "see your vet"!

I think the board is just fine the way it is,you can talk just about anything,be it gardening,what to cook for dinner,or your beloved pets.
A few new emoticons would be good..

I agree with Chico. I think everything is just fine, but would also like some more emoticons. That would be cool!

back on topic though! Umm, what about a behavior section? Or where would that be best suited as it stands now???

Behavior usually goes in the training section if it's a behavior we don't want, or in the on-topic if it's a behavior we just want to brag about.:D

How about being able to post more then one picture at a time??? You know, itead of having to hit "post reply" to keep adding pics. Unless this can be done already and I don't know how!! lol I have seen other people do it, but how do they do it??

And ya, new emoticons would be cool! I have used the link Prin posted, but when you're on dial up:yuck: , it's too much work and waiting time!!

The multi-pic posters use image hosting sites... So their pics are already on another site and then they link it to here so the pic shows. But if the other site changes, all your posted pics disappear. Something like that.:o

ooo I figured out what's missing.. Maybe... A cat behavior section. Because now, if people have a kitty behavior question, where does it go? Does it go in training? General??

I was siiting well laying in bed last night after I logged off here and thought to myself .. I should write and ask why there is no chat room on pets.ca ... i think it would be soooo neat! I was part of a pregnancy chat room when i was pregnant( go figure thats when it was) and there were always 2 or three regulars as we called them monitoring the room and reporting abusers and kicking ppl out and stuff. It was a great time .. we made lots of friends and actually I'm going to one of the girls weddings that I met there. I think it's an excellent idea since most ppl in this membership area are always on and constantly updating and refreshing to see responses to their posts and stuff. I don't think it would be too hard since your requirements for membership to the bulletin area are so extensive .... it wouldn't be too hard to track abusive ppl and animal lovers are very protective of their rights .. I think it would be self geverned pretty well! Something to consider .... maybe a poll would help see the demand for one? Well I'm assuming you already know there is one ... maybe I'll just stop typing ... lol
