Anyone into the Twilight Series?

Serioulsy, Its like Book Crack. I HAVE to have my Twilight Fix...Like all day.

I curse the day I bought Twilight, because now, It's literally, ALL I want to do. I wake up wanting to read! Its ridiculous!

I read Twilight in a day and a half and then went and saw the movie. The movie is...Okay... Doesnt follow REAL closely, but its still good.
I'm reading New Moon right now, and I'm getting kind of worried! Lol

Anyone else addicted?:D

yep I got addicted pretty fast, read all 4 books in a few weeks, now I am trying to get my hands on Sookie Stackhouse series but its sold out everywhere:sad:

I just picked up the book to read last night. I promised a student in my class that I would read them. She lent me Twilight and The Host to read over the break. So far it seems interesting. I'm about 100 pages in.

Schwinn December 31st, 2008 02:57 PM

I just read her "first book for adults" called the Host, and absolutely loved it. Mrs. Schwinn just finished it (after cursing me several times for letting her read it...she wasn't getting any sleep not being able to put it down). We just found out she's the same author of Twilight, and now Mrs. Schwinn has all the books in the series.

So I finished Twilight a few days ago. Honestly, I really didn't enjoy it. It took almost 400 pages for it to get interesting. There is only so many times I could read about Edward being dangerous or so beautiful. And really, the guy's stalking Bella! He waits for her after class, watches her while she sleeps, and waits outside her house to pick her up in the morning. He snaps at her frequently and gets easily jealous. Not a healthy relationship by any standard. I can understand the appeal for teens - a dark, dangerous and handsome young man falling for the modest, intelligent, new girl in town.

I'm hoping The Host is better. In the meantime, I'll be reading A Thousand Splendid Suns first. I need some more depth.

lol, total Twilight addict, read all 4 books in less than a week, now waiting patiently for my daughter to finish reading " the host".

Toonces December 31st, 2008 06:50 PM

I have not read the host yet but plan too, I do agree with Kanis, maybe not a good thing for teens as I have a teen myself and they are influenced easy but it depends of the kid, I also got sick of hearing about how beautiful he was and so on but it did not stop me from reading all 4 books

I am also a Twilight addict... I just finished New Moon and will pick up Eclipse in the next week. Sadly, I've been kind of embarrassed about my fondness for the series... they are just sooooo insanely popular amongst tweens, etc. I have only told about 4 people that I'm reading them and I actually made my husband buy me New Moon because I was too chicken to go buy it myself. I worked in a bookstore for about 3 years and I think I'm just a little pretentious now. :-( I'll need to work on that... I liked the movie too. I thought it was alright - entertaining. And Robert Pattinson is so hot that the rest of the cast could have been spewing gibberish and I wouldn't have cared! :-)

My friend recommended and lent me her copy of Twilight this weekend. I didn't really know anything about it other than what I'd seen of the movie trailers. I started it last night at 6:45pm and finished it today at 12:50pm. I'm definitely used to reading more challenging material, but will admit that it had me hooked after about 100 pages. Now to find the next book in the series (hmmm...small city library with a waiting list as long as your arm or endure the scrutiny of the lady at the book store as I put the book on the counter to checkout?)

stacer you can get the whole series at Sam's club pretty cheap now.:D

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only Twilight Adict...
I finished the last book about two weeks ago!

If you didnt like the first book, chances are you wont like any of them. Book two and Three take pretty big side steps in them before coming back to focus in the last book. I personally Loved all of them!

Stephanie Meyer has a habit of picking a word and then using it over and over in the book. Like for instance in The Host she uses Chagrin over and over and over.

I was really dissapointed with the Twilight movie, but I heard that there will be a different producer for the next one, so hopfully it will get better.

Pattinson is just NOT what I envisioned Edward to be... to me, he's more Creepy than what I imagined as "God-like".

I read The Host before I read Twilight. I loved it as well.

She is a very interesting author. My DF's parents are extremely religious and swore never to see Twilight due to the vampires in it, But then come to find out Stephanie Meyer is Mormon... :D Makes me happy that I'm not the only open-minded person in this world!

Hahaha! Well, maybe I just like "creepy?" I better look into that...

I've read the twilight series about 3 times in the last year. And I'm always sad when I finish the series. Has anyone read Midnight Sun?? It is Edward's perspective of Twilight. It is not published yet though. When Stephenie was writing it, she gave her 3 drafts to 3 different ppl and one of them leaked it onto the internet :( some ppl just have to ruin it for the rest of us. Here is the link to the first 12 chapters that she wrote. Hopefully she will finish it one day b/c it is really funny to read from Edward's perspective. There is no way to print it so you will have to read it on your computer. http://stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.html
