Clicker training cats

I am working on clicker training my cat to help with some aggressive behaviour he has at times towards my toddler.

Does anyone have experience with clicker training?

I am trying to find the best method. If he starts walking towards her to swat at her, would I redirect with a command and then reward with click and treat?
Or should I be using the clicker to reinforce positive interactions he has with my daughter?

Any insight is so greatly appreciated!!

I've never used clickers with our cats, but I've used them pretty extensively with the dogs.

You might want to try a combination of both. Click and reward for the successful redirection (whether redirected by command or by a toy toss), but also for a positive one-on-one interaction he has with your daughter.
