Anxiety after rehoming cats

Are you going to stay in touch to make sure things are working out okay? If the cats aren't going to be content with the dogs and the new people, with luck it will become apparent before they head for the lake. But I think I'd be the one to initiate a call just before the people are scheduled to leave for the summer cottage--they might be embarrassed or uncomfortable in calling you, even though you offered to take them back at any time.

Hi Hazelrunpack.
Yes, I plan on calling them but wanted to give them a few days at least as we know that some cats don't settle quickly and didn't want them to feel like they needed to lie about it. I was very clear that I was willing to take them back at any time and gave them some written info on feeding, behaviour, etc with my full name and two contact numbers. I don't think they are nasty people or anything but maybe a bit lax when it comes to care and knowledge. I actually deleted my post as I was worried I had offended people. |
I know that if I were rehoming an animal, no one could live up to my standards... :o  But if you think they're good people who will love the cats, it will probably be okay. Still, I'd give them a call and see how things are going.
Oh, and I don't think anyone was offended--it's just been a slow traffic week on the board. |
Thanks.
