Drontal cannot be taken with Sulcrate

Tomorrow I must give my 3 dogs their second Drontal dose. Two of my dogs are on daily Sulcrate, and for the first dose 2 weeks ago I did not give the Sulcrate that day because the vet told me the Drontal works better on an empty stomach. The Drontal is very hard on their tummies and one of them had gurgling sounds and then got me up in the night to go outside for emergency business. She is a senior rescue that we have had since the end of January and she has MANY health issues that we are treating. She came from horrible conditions and the Drontal is NECESSARY or I would not bother. I would appreciate any suggestions for how to make this easier for them to take.

This is off of the Drug Insert for Drontal Plus by Bayer:
"The tablets may be offered to the dog by hand. Alternatively tablets may be given directly by mouth or offered in a small amount of food. Fasting is neither necessary nor recommended prior to or after treatment."
Drontal plus contains: Praziquantel, Pyrantel, Febantel.
Drontal contains just: Praziquantel, Pyrantel.

Thus the feeding recommendation should be the same for both Drontal and Drontal Plus. Sorry - I do not have just the plain Drontal insert to quote.

Hope this helps.:pawprint:

Thank you SO much.
I will give the Drontal with food and then give the Sulcrate at bedtime rather than with meals tomorrow.
