Hamilton Peregrine Falcons 2019

Wow its been awhile since I updated on our falcons. We have a new Matriarch (Lily) and her beau (Ossie) they have been around for about 3-4 years now after taking over the nest from Madame X and her lifelong mate.

Sad but so true to the life of falcons. If your interested in following along we have live webcam in the Hamilton Nest. Lily has started laying eggs. They usually hatch around Mothers Day or sometimes later dependent on weather .

Looks like we have at least 2 eggs or more to date.

Anyway feel free to watch live @

Once they hatch it is alot of fun to see how they grow. Its also interesting to watch live on banding day when the stranger invades the nest, snatches up the babies, takes them for banding and a weighing in to determine sex and then returned to the nest. LOL

Enjoy
Cindy

It's amazing how early in the year they start their cycle! Eggs already, and I'm still waiting for the rest of our snow to melt and the temps to warm up enough to ditch the coat! :D

Thanks for the link, Cindy! If you think of it, can you post again if you hear what the banding date is going to be?

My brother will surely love to see this link as he is a fan of peregrine birds.

I think we have a hatch but we will see. Just based on timing and the way Lily is sitting higher up I think she has babes underneath...

Stay tuned......:thumbs up

If it's as cold there as it is here, she'll be snugglin' down and keepin' them babies warm!! :D How exciting! Will have to start checking the feed more often! :thumbs up

Sad to see that the eggs seem to have failed! :( I hope they try another clutch! :goodvibes:

I hope this nothing to do with
all the toxic sprays being used to to kill
insects and weeds!😤

Barkingdog all indications would point to weather. Cold damp rainy season always seems to bring failed nests. No new clutch and likely now we will have to wait until next year. They incubated those eggs for so long
Oh well lets hope for next year.

Barkingdog falcons have increased a lot since the banning of DDT. They are not on the endangered list anymore :thumbs up
