Using Gates

Hi All,

Does anyone have advice about using baby gates for dogs?
Otis and Sonny will have to start being confined to our kitchen as a temp situation while their usual 'supervisor' is away at camp for a couple of weeks.
Although Otis is perfectly fine in the house on his own for a day, we do not yet trust Sonny unsupervised. They will have plenty of room, their beds, toys and of course each other. I have planned for someone to come and let them out for a break mid-day but they will otherwise be alone for about 9 hours.
I have never used a baby gate - for dogs or a baby...and am wondering how practical they are for dogs..
The one I am looking to get is wood, pressure mounted and approx 24" high. Any recommendations??

We currently have baby gates up for the new puppy we rescued - so far so good! We don't want her to have full run of the house, even while we're home (she had a few accidents yesterday), plus we want the cats to have a safe place while being able to come and go as they please.

We are using the ones you are describing I think. Loki did chew on it a bit back in the day, but other than that, it's been great.

Good luck!

we've used them off and on for all newbies. They worked really well for many situations with our dogs.

Good luck,
Diane

oh, and the height depends on the dogs you have - I like the ones I could at least step over without having to move them. The ones that have swing gates are great, but more expensive.

I use them and love them. Sasha has not tried to jump them at all.
