Help, please

I have a female cat, between 10 months and 1 year old. She was always super active loving to run and climb. Had her spayed about 2 months ago, unfortunately she cane back with a cold. I gave lyzine and it cleared up. She was behaving as usual for about 4 weeks, then suddenly she stopped going outside, and mostly stays on my bed. She doesn't go far, she can , but does not like to jump any higher than my bed. Seems like she is weak in her legs maybe and her claws get caught on stuff almost every few steps, and it seems like she can't let go(its usually just one claw on a paw when it happens.) she doesn't really seem to be in pain when I feel up and down her legs and her feet, and she is not grouchy. She is definitely not herself. She will jump right up to play withe a laser or string if I wave one but again has a hard time cause she gets stuck. I don't know what to do. Oh, also, she still uses the litter box just fine.

Welcome to the board, Lucindastreets!

Have you seen the vet for a follow up? It might be something related to the spay, or it might be something she caught while outside, or something totally unrelated. Hard to tell. Your vet would be your best bet for a diagnosis.

I'm with HRP - vet visit is required. This is not normal behaviour. Guessing what the source might be won't help I'm afraid as there are way too many possibilities.

Please keep us updated! :goodvibes:

As well as above suggestions I think a very simple thing to try would be to clip her toenails. Front and back.

Oh, oh! I just googled lyzine for cats and it seems there can be pretty serious side effects for some cats.

Thanks to everyone e who answered me. (Sorry about the personal email, didn't know. But I do now ) I will definitely have her checked by the vet. Will they be able to tell for sure if it was the Lyzine ? And do you know if they can recover? I am clipping her nails today, will let you know how that goes.

She's a cutie, Lucindastreets :lovestruck: Good luck at the vet. How did the nail clipping go?
